Rock House Detroit historical home was built in 1928, entirely of fieldstone that was brought from the Pontiac River in horse-drawn carriages. Sometimes stones were hand-carried one-by-one down the street from Woodward if it was the rainy season.

Side of Rock House. The home is made entirely of field stones. Your private entrance is on the front porch. Our private entrance is in the back of the home, and our space is below the home. We never enter your space during your stay.

Photo taken by my neighbor, Bob, on a foggy morning. Beautiful, quiet neighborhood with arts and crafts style historic homes. The streets are lined with lush mature trees. We have all 4 seasons here so the leaves are here mid-May to October.

Mid May-end Oct this is the look of the porch. The porch is huge + covered and fabulous in 3 seasons. It’s your space for the duration of your stay. New modern wingback chairs Summer 2022, the rugs and furniture changes from time to time.

I like to say that every seat in the home is comfy. Even the dining chairs are upholstered, for maximum comfort.

Light-filled luxe home office added in 2021. The desk is a thick glass, with marble base. There’s a painting behind the spot to sit, which is a good conversation piece for zoom calls.

Another view of the home office. This will be changing at some point as that piece will end up on our bathroom when it’s remodeled. It’s a wonderful space to work.

View from dining room into the kitchen. Kitchen has a gas stove and fully stocked kitchen for cooking. Microwave has a convection function. Keurig coffee maker with milk frothing machine, sweetener and sugar located in the back.

View from the back of the kitchen to the back wall. The lower cabinets in the middle are left open for you to use for dry goods. There are glasses in top level, and coffee/tea area on the left top.

From the back of the kitchen. That back door goes to the stairs that lead to our space below. We have our own private entrance in the back to get to our apartment. We never enter your space during your stay.

Front bedroom with KING bedroom. Cozy, soft linens and black-out curtains make for a restful sleep. This room has a Serta spring mattress with foam topper. We also provide fans if you like air circulation. The lights dim. Extra blankets.

Bedding may change, but it’s always comfy. KING size bed. We do have a tv in this room at this time that is programmed with Roku and YouTube tv, Netflix, prime, Hulu, and HBO max. A dresser with 3 drawers and luggage racks are provided for you.

Back bedroom has a tall dresser with skinny drawers. We just installed a tv on the dresser complete with Netflix, prime, hbo max, Hulu. There are suitcase stands in both bedrooms. Hangers in the closet. Artwork is for sale.

Bathroom with tub, fluffy bath sheets and regular size bath towels, hair turbans and makeup remover cloths. 480 watts of light make getting ready easy.
