If you are lucky enough to be able to get the Rock House, get it. It is a wonderful house with wonderful cozy vibes. Everything about it is perfect. If you love art and music, It's all there for you. Plenty of comfy places to lounge. The porch was probably my favorite place to hang out. Grab a blanket and just enjoy the beauty around. Wonderful Wonderful hosts. Hope to come back soon. What an amazing find! Great hosts and a cool vibe both inside and outside. Ferndale is a gem of its own kind. Try Anitas or Toast or Comos. for food. We enjoyed them all. The communication with the host was simple and they were really invested in our being welcomed and comfortable.

After spending 2 months here, I understand why Tamela is rated a 5-star host. From the moment I checked in until the moment I checked out, she was super-friendly, helpful, accommodating and approachable and available. She made a point to be sure all my needs were fulfilled right from the start. Her attention to the details are so impressive, and this really charming lovely home was such a treat for me to be able to reside in. She had great suggestions about shopping and dining and things to do. She always made sure that the little personal things I love were taken care of, and I truly felt like a VIP during my stay. I highly recommend Tamela as a host, and The Rock House as a destination.

We had such a wonderful time at the Rock House. This was actually my best Airbnb experience to date. Tamela and her husband have decorated their house beautifully with local art and thoughtful touches. The space feels like a cozy home, not a rental, so we very quickly and easily settled in. The street is quiet, tree lined and safe with really unique beautiful homes surrounding it. I wish it was warmer so we could enjoy the covered porch which was decorated with a Christmas tree for the season (the home itself also was decorated for the holidays which we really appreciated. Tamela was responsive and was incredibly helpful to us. Highly highly recommend staying at The Rock House.

I can't say enough about the home and Tamela. She went above and beyond in making sure we had a great stay. The home is romantic and hip. I really appreciate the cool artwork. My favorite part, sitting on the stone porch while drinking coffee in the morning, or having a glass of wine at night. This was my second stay at the home. And, I truly appreciate Tamela helping me book a last minute work trip. I highly recommend this amazing home and it's amazing hosts!

Rocking digs! The Artsy Rock House was the perfect place to stay, not only was the environment on brand for the hip, vintage, rock, modern vibe. To top it off they also provided everything you could think of, Labeled and organized in a natural way, I walked over to a drawer and found just what we needed. They had extra touches like fans by the bed & a Bluetooth speaker to allow us to make the rock house feel more like a home away from home. Lastly we have to mention they were fantastic hosts, quick to respond to messages and loads of information neatly outlined on a welcome note! We will definitely be back the next time we're looking for a place to stay in Ferndale!

Tamela's place is incredible! One of the most stylish and beautiful places I've ever stayed at! Home is decorated with many interesting and amazing art pieces which made our stay so much better. The house was clean and everything from glassware to bed linens was top notch. I would recommend this home in a heart beat.

The coolest place I've ever stayed. A historic, art focused home in one of the funner suburbs of Detroit. Located in a great neighborhood with plenty of fun food options nearby. Tamela provides thorough and timely communication that makes finding, using, and enjoying her property to the fullest. I'd highly recommend staying there.

We had such a great time at The Stone House just spending time together & catching up. Sometimes you have to get away to get together and we benefitted from the cool, yet cozy, home of Tamela's. You have all of your basic needs with the added amenities of a good coffee maker, Bose speakers, a fireplace at the push of a button & a wonderful porch :) All of these things were important to us because our stay included listening/sharing good music finds with each other, catching up on show series at night by the fire & just chillin' after some adventures. We hit the Fox Theater for a symphonic Prince tribute, walked Ferndale, spent time and money at Third Man Records, walked a bit of the Cass Corridor & took a *trip* to Fisher Body 21 ;) Just good memories with some of my fave people! Tamela's is easily walkable to 9 mile where you can get some good bites to eat, pop in some shops (we enjoyed the selection at Found Sound) and have the convenience of some excellent groceries. Lastly, Tamela's home is in a neighborhood that's enjoyable to take a walk in ~ the homes are all different and have great charm or are just super interesting. We appreciate that ~ it's nice to stretch your legs and "feel like ya live there." Thanks for having us! Detroit is not Dead!

This has hands down the best Airbnb experience I have ever had. The house is extraordinary. Tamela and Evan are the most gracious hosts. We actually became great friends! The house is a total gem. Clean, close to down town Detroit (18 minutes), and easy access to downtown Ferndale, which has a TON of things to do and places to eat. You will not find a better experience. My roomie and I were in town for a month for work and felt right at home. We drank wine and giggled on the porch every night and had our coffee and breakfast outside too. It was the perfect stay in the most perfect house with the best hosts!

All I can say is WOW. If there was a way to give more than 5 stars I would. Coming from a musical background this house was the perfect match. The newer hip hotels are trying to duplicate what Tamela has already mastered. The design and decor are amazing. The paintings extraordinary. This place has lots of character and is totally DOPE, OFF THE HOOK, etc. I can't say enough good things about not only staying there but our overall experience. I believe the house is a historical landmark, its very clean and well maintained. Tamela is an unbelievable host and easy to contact if you need anything at all including recommendations. If this place is available don't pass it by, great location with lots of amenities. We can't wait to return! #RockOn
